G’day from The Acreage Project
We’re a couple of locals who believe that acreage living can be so much more than just a lifestyle choice. When we moved onto our block in the Mackay Region, we didn’t just see a place to live—we saw the potential for a productive, independent, and resilient local business.
What started as a personal passion for self-sufficiency has evolved into The Acreage Project: a dedicated commercial venture designed to redefine how our community thinks about local products and local food.
The Value of Local
There is a quality of life here that money simply can’t buy. For us, nothing beats the feeling of eating food straight from the backyard, picked that same day. We’ve found a deep sense of satisfaction in making our own shelf goods, growing our own produce or sitting down to a meal of local fish and game.
We are driven by a love for these "real" products—the kind that haven't spent weeks in a shipping container. We created The Acreage Project because we wanted to share this experience. Our goal is to bring that same level of freshness, transparency, and local character from our property to the wider community.
The "Project" Mindset
We call this "The Project" because we believe in constant innovation. Our goal is to bridge the gap between traditional acreage living and modern efficiency.
By taking a systematic approach to our land, we are building a model for vertical integration—taking control of the supply chain from the soil to the shelf. This means every system we design is built to be productive, repeatable, and scalable.
Join the Journey
The future of acreage living is independent, circular, and local. We are proud to be part of the Mackay small-business community and look forward to sharing the results of our work with you. We’re busy building a line of products, starting with local animal feed and working our way into fresh produce. Stay in touch to keep up with the journey!
